From 28 Participants to 1,000+ Graduates | The Advanced Tax Programme Journey

From 28 participants in 2007 to more than 1,000 graduates today, the Advanced Tax Programme (ATP) has grown alongside Singapore’s tax profession.

At the Tax Academy Alumni Network: Welcome Event, Mr Dennis Lui, CEO of Tax Academy of Singapore, reflected on the journey of ATP and the community that has grown around it.

The programme began in 2007 with 28 participants, including current Tax Academy Board Members Mr Chester Wee of EY and Mr Daniel Ho of Deloitte. Since then, Tax Academy has expanded its advanced professional programmes, including the introduction of Advanced GST in 2012, while ATP now runs two intakes each year with up to 50 participants per intake.

Over the past 19 years, more than 1,000 tax professionals from across the profession have graduated from the programme.

The Alumni Network: Welcome Event brought together around 200 tax professionals, while the wider Tax Academy Alumni Network has grown to approximately 500 members and counting.

Looking ahead, Tax Academy is building new opportunities for its alumni and the broader tax community through international tax conferences, research collaborations, support for local tax authors and greater development of tax thought leadership.

As the tax landscape continues to evolve, the Tax Academy Alumni Network provides a platform for tax professionals to connect, collaborate and continue growing together.
